Parallelization by Surface Grinding

Evenness
Parallelism
Thickness uniformity

Do you have requirements for flatness, parallelism and thickness uniformity? At Dörfler&Schmidt you can have your components surface ground. Our processes ensure parallelism, flatness and thickness uniformity with a tolerance of 0.01 mm.

Flatness: Flatness refers to only one surface of one workpiece. The flatness of a surface describes its flatness in connection with the permissible shape tolerance. If all its points of a surface lie on a straight line, the surface is completely flat.

Parallelism: Parallelism refers to two surfaces of one workpiece. If the surfaces have constantly the same distance to each other, this is called parallelism. Plane-parallelism refers to the parallelism of two planar surfaces.

Thickness equality: The thickness equality refers to several workpieces. If all workpieces have the same thickness, there is uniformity in thickness.

Flatness, parallelism and equal thickness are achieved by double face grinding or discus grinding. The surface quality of the processed workpieces is Rz < 1 µm. Since with our machine up to 8,000 pieces are ground per hour, the unit costs are low for you! Any sharp edges resulting from the grinding of the components can be removed in a subsequent work step, mass finishing. With us you get everything from one source!

"When parallelizing components, we rely on double plane grinding in the throughfeed process. This enables us to meet both requirements for maximum precision and low unit costs. Contact us so that you too can benefit!"
