With double face grinding (also discus grinding or double side grinding) via through-feed process we can grind your workpieces with high accuracy and high throughput. By grinding on both sides, effects of clamping distortion are neutralized. Moreover it is possible to grind up to 8,000 pieces per hour in a continuous process, which reduces the processing costs per piece.
With our double face grinding machines we can process your components with a tolerance of 0.01mm in parallelism, flatness and thickness equality. The ground surfaces show an Rz value of less than 1 μm. With our machines, small parts up to 80mm in diameter can be processed particularly well.
In the through-feed grinding, the components are guided between two grinding wheels (radial or linear). By grinding simultaneously from above and below, your workpieces are ground without clamping distortion, which leads to high accuracy. Depending on the material of the workpieces, we can use different grinding wheels to achieve the best surface values.
The double face grinding allows the machining of a wide variety of workpieces. We grind metal parts up to 100mm in diameter, from a quantity of 1,000 pieces.

Our processes ensure flatness, parallelism and thickness uniformity with a tolerance of 0.01 mm.
Flatness: Flatness refers to only one surface of a workpiece. If all points of a workpiece surface lie on a straight line, the surface is completely flat. This is also referred to as a plane surface.
Parallelism: Parallelism refers to two surfaces of a workpiece. If the surfaces have a constant equal distance to each other, we speak of parallelism.
Thickness uniformity: The equal thickness refers to several workpieces. If all workpieces have the same thickness, we speak of thickness uniformity.
